The Democratic Party’s Enemies: Donald Trump & the U.S. Constitution
The idea that we would ever need to impeach any President of the United States for criminal activity is deeply troubling. But it is alarming to imagine a constitutional safeguard like impeachment being degraded and used as a mere political weapon, which is exactly what is happening now. Set aside your opinion of Donald Trump the man and consider why he was impeached, the shockingly unconstitutional process that was used to impeach him, the nature of the charges leveled against him, and the damage that it does to our Republic. If this impeachment is allowed to stand unchallenged, then it establishes precedents that undermine the civil rights of all Americans, damages the safeguards of our system of government, and diminishes impeachment from an emergency measure to protect the nation from criminals to a trivial political tool to be used capriciously to gang up on political opponents. The Constitution was written specifically to prevent things like this from ever happening here.
Why He Was Impeached
But it is happening here. The impeachment of Donald Trump is clearly not an emergency measure to remove a criminal from the White House. The House Democrats have openly discussed their plans to keep or get Trump out of the White House from the moment he won the election, prior to any supposed criminal activity. Even if you choose to ignore that evidence, consider the flagrantly unconstitutional process that they created just for Trump, the absurdity of the charges that included no crime of any kind, as well as the House Democrats holding their Articles of Impeachment hostage in an effort to force the Senate to ignore the Constitution as well. All of this clearly demonstrates that this impeachment is nothing more than a political attack. More specifically, it is a political attack on the Democratic Party’s two greatest political enemies, the U.S. Constitution and the one man standing between them and their dreams of a Socialist state, Donald Trump. If they succeed, then they will be killing two birds with one stone.
The Takeover
Socialists, and other radical Leftists, have now completely taken control of the Democratic Party, and many of them are not even bothering to try to hide behind the mask of "Progressivism" anymore. As their masks came off so did their gloves. They are fighting tooth and nail for power and control of the United States and they are not willing to let little things like the law or elections get in their way.
The thought that any American would actually try to damage his own country or be willing to hurt our President seems shocking, and it is shocking. However, it is not surprising when you understand that those who truly believe in Socialism, or other totalitarian ideologies, consider damaging their country and its leaders to be necessary steps in the process of creating a Socialist state.

If you read any of the Leftist literature you will see that they believe that the freedoms and legal protections of the Constitution, in a nation like the U.S., should be weaponized against it, human nature suppressed, society destabilized, and the market economy destroyed. They start by working within the system through social pressure and incremental change. If that fails, or they gain enough power, then they transition into violent revolutionary action where personal property is stolen and people physically injured as they force everyone to comply with their dictatorial rule. We have seen this in legislation, the courts, the media, protests, and even violent riots.
We have been in the “pressure people to comply” phase of a Socialist takeover for the last decade. Now, we are seeing our own systems of government weaponized against a duly elected President, with a majority of House members completely ignoring core constitutional protections that they swore to uphold. They actually impeached a President of the United States without any semblance of due process, with no evidence of any criminal activity whatsoever, and no actual crime included in their charges; all of which are required by the Constitution. This group of rogue House Democrats has attempted to criminalize or nullify legal powers and privileges of the Executive and Judicial Branches. Meanwhile, we have Antifa taking to the streets and attacking people for having the nerve to think for themselves.
None of this behavior is out of the ordinary for Socialists because it is what they always do. Our Socialists were just pretending to be Democrats while they were in the “laying low” phase of their plan. Now that most of them have finally come out of the closet, they are using the same oppressive, manipulative, and tyrannical techniques that all their predecessors did.
Plans Gone Wrong
But their Socialist debut is not going quite the way that they planned. They had spent the previous two terms rebranding and promoting Socialism as Progressivism with one of the most persuasive frontmen in history, crooning from the steps of the White House, while their propaganda reverberated through the media. It was one of the most brilliantly effective, and deceptive, marketing campaigns in history. Joseph Goebbels himself would have been proud.

Hillary was supposed to continue to promote their policies as Progressivism until they could build enough support to seamlessly transition into open Socialism. The Progressives gleefully anticipated controlling the U.S. with your very own little iron fists, when Donald Trump stepped in their path and caused them to have to accelerate their plans. It was risky to change too much too fast but they knew that Trump would undo all of their hard work and keep them from the power that they had been drooling over. They seem to have decided that they are willing to take the chance.
All on The Line
Trump is not just reversing their efforts to transform the U.S. but proving that Americanism is truly the most effective system of government that the world has ever seen. He is slowly freeing the American People from the burdens that the government has been heaping upon them for decades in the name of help and protection. We are now being reminded of the prosperity that freedom truly brings, and the Leftists know that they have to stop him.
This is a critical time for the Leftist leaders in the United States who are trying to use the false promises of Socialism to gain power. They had been focusing their efforts on the future by indoctrinating young people who are not old enough to remember the untold millions who suffered and died under Socialism. They were going to have time to continue the gradual transition into Socialism, slowly moving all of the pieces into place, but Trump’s successes have cut them off at the knees.
Most of these Leftist leaders do not actually believe that Socialism will create peace on earth. No one who knows anything about Socialism, history, economics, or the human spirit is foolish enough to believe that Socialism will bring peace and prosperity. They cannot allow Trump to succeed in providing the peace and prosperity that they have been telling everyone can only come through Socialism or it will prove everything they have been saying has been nothing but lies.

Trump told the world that America was open for business again and the market lept in response. He has now been in office for several years and the economy is booming. There is record low unemployment, particularly in the African American and Hispanic communities, and all of this is in spite of the constant attacks on his administration and the underlying economic problems that will take decades of prosperity and sound financial decisions to overcome.
They have to get rid of Trump and the Constitution that protects us from power-seekers like them. You cannot have the Socialist State of America, like the U.S.S.R., or the National Socialist American Workers Party, like the Nazis, in the United States, unless you remove our Constitution and those who protect our freedom like Donald Trump.
But how do you get rid of a president who is doing a good job and who is highly likely to get re-elected? You have to destroy his reputation to the point where no one will vote for him and find a way to remove him from office. The Democrats have spent the last several years attempting to make the American people hate Donald Trump. You cannot open a newspaper, turn on the television, or use the internet without being inundated with anti-Trump messaging.
According to their ridiculous propaganda, Donald Trump is Hitler reincarnated, a secret member of the KKK, a bumbling idiot, a secret spy for the Russians, as well as an evil genius using his office to make billions. Unfortunately for the Democrats, Donald Trump is none of those things and he is doing a very good job. Trump’s successes have left them very little ammunition to use to remove him from office. They have spent years investigating him and found no criminal activity to use for impeachment. Apparently, they have decided that they are just going to make up some crimes and impeach him anyway.
The Process
They have ignored the Constitution completely, held a secret trial in a basement in DC, and created special rules specifically to prevent Trump from defending himself. When they could no longer get away with keeping their sham trial a secret, they decided that it was time to take their show on the road. The Leftists and their allies finally hit the big time, taking center stage in the Democratic Party’s off-off-off-off-Broadway production of The Impeachment of the President of the United States, otherwise known as The Coup or How to Take Over the World One Fake News Story at a Time, with backers in all of the major news outlets.
Civil Rights Violations
Every aspect of the impeachment investigation was a farce from beginning to end. If there was a constitutional right or protection that the Democrats could ignore or outright defy, they did. Consider the basic civil right to due process that the Constitution guarantees to every single American. It is such an important protection that it is mentioned not once but twice. It is in the 5th Amendment and then reiterated again in the 14th Amendment. As you can see, the Democrats ignored it completely.
Due Process
Citizens have a right to an attorney.
The House Democrats denied Donald Trump the right to an attorney.
Citizens have the right to be made aware of the evidence against them.
The House Democrats conducted significant portions of their investigation in secret, and to this day they have not provided all the evidence to Donald Trump, to all of the members of Congress, or to the American People. How can a citizen prepare his defense if he is not even aware of the evidence being used against him? How can a “jury” determine the guilt or innocence of a citizen without knowing what the evidence is? How can the American People decide whether they support the impeachment or not without knowing the evidence?
Citizens have the right to present a defense.
The House Democrats denied Donald Trump the right to present a defense.
Citizens have the right to confront their accusers.
The House Democrats denied Donald Trump the right to know who all of his accusers were, as well as denying him the right to confront his accusers during the legal proceedings.
Citizens have the right to call witnesses as a part of their defense, and to cross-examine the witnesses.
The House Democrats denied Donald Trump the right to call witnesses in his defense and denied him the right to ask critical questions of the witnesses they called without their prior approval.
Citizens have the right to an unbiased tribunal.
While the House is made up of partisans, in the sense that they all have political associations, at the very least it was their duty to refrain from pronouncing judgment until the end of the investigation. A number of Democrats had announced their determination of his guilt prior to the completion, and in some cases, commencement, of the investigation, forgetting that in America we are all innocent until proven guilty. Some had called for his impeachment before there were any accusations of impeachable wrongdoing or even before he was sworn in, just because he won the election.
The Charges
The charges that the Democrats leveled against Donald Trump were just as unconstitutional as their “indictment.” Citizens who hold the office of the President of the United States can only be impeached for “Conviction of, Treason, Bribery, or other high Crimes and Misdemeanors.” In other words, a citizen is protected from impeachment without being convicted by the House of some kind of serious crime. That is not in any way what happened here.
The House Democrats voted to impeach the President of the United States on December 18, 2019. Their rationale was outlined in two Articles of Impeachment where they charged the President with “high crimes and misdemeanors” that they described as “abuse of power” and “obstruction of Congress.” Neither of these charges are crimes and both of which directly contradict the specific intent of the Founders.
Abuse of Power
The Democrats accused the President of “abuse of power” for “solicited the interference of a foreign government, Ukraine, in the 2020 United States Presidential election.” It should be noted that there is no criminal statute for “abuse of power.” In other words, if the Democrats suspected or even proved that the President had abused his power, the accusation of “abuse of power” is not an actual crime, and therefore not an impeachable offense. It is not in the U.S. Constitution or the criminal code. Interestingly enough, the Founders considered including the concept of abuse of power in the articles of impeachment and ended up rejecting it because of concerns that it was too broad and that it would be used as a political weapon, which is precisely what is happening now. In addition, there is no evidence to prove that the president’s actions were improper or extraordinary in terms of their legality or historical precedent. We have the transcript of the call and the President of Ukraine himself confirmed that there was nothing improper in their interactions.
Obstruction of Congress
The Democrats also accused the President of “obstruction of Congress” for “defiance of subpoenas issued by the House of Representatives” demanding Executive Branch testimony before Congress. “Obstruction of Congress,” which is not the same thing as obstruction of justice, for not testifying, is not a crime that the President or his staff can commit. This ignores the years of historical interpretation that the President and his staff are exempt from Congressional testimony. That means that it is not a crime for the Executive Branch to refuse to testify before Congress. If it is not a crime, then it cannot possibly be an impeachable offense as the Constitution requires that a crime be committed.
The Damage to Our Republic
We now have a President who has been impeached for two actions that were neither illegal nor impeachable. The Democrats have set the precedent that our government can ignore the civil rights of any citizen of the United States and take legal action against them if that citizen does not share the same political views. They have also set a precedent for weaponizing the government against any of our representatives or elections if they do not like the candidates or outcome.
We cannot make exceptions to our Constitution and its protections for Donald Trump without removing the protections for us all. America is in a very precarious position right now. We are deciding whether we are going to live in a free constitutional republic or an oppressive Socialist state. If you want to live in a Socialist state, then the U.S. Constitution, with all of its rights and freedoms, as well as its protectors, are your enemies. If you want to live in a free nation, then you must defend the Constitution even when it protects the rights of those you do not like. Today it is Donald Trump but tomorrow it could be you.
